The Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition, the official journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition (ISSN), has published the first collaborative study between VitalizeDx and the School of Dentistry and the Department of Microbiology of the University of Chieti, Italy.Â
By analyzing data from 120 athletes and 30 non-athletes, we discovered a notable correlation between the consumption of energy snacks and chocolates with increased risks of dental caries and oral dysbiosis. Our research emphasizes the critical need to integrate oral health considerations into sports nutrition and training programs to protect the overall well-being of athletes.
